Fair Play League and Europe
I see we're top of the fair play league which is a great achievement, so massive congratulations tpo the manager, skipper, chairman and everyone involved.

Does the fair play league carry a European position?

I'm just debating whether to use up the rest of my holiday or save it for a European tour.

Cheers!

I remember when we were in the Intertoto we had a cracking start to the season, as in my belief our fitness levels were higher than usual.

Would prefer Europe than pointless friendlies.

It's a challenge that's for sure and even moreso if as expected we change Manager within the next 6-8 weeks.

You'd be expecting a new guy to come in and have a plan in place for that first game. If he has no new faces added to the squad you're looking at.

Adrian

O'Brien
Cresswell
Reid
Collins
Tomkins

Noble
Kouyate
Poyet
Nolan
Jarvis
Amalfitano
Downing

Sakho
Valencia (most likely still on his break after Copa America)
Zarate

So in truth we'd need to add some young players to that squad for the first few games or indeed expect any new signings to also cut short their Summer break.

Sullivan via his son clearly stated tonight that we'd take the opportunity if we're given it.

Yes, my point was why bother at all if you are worried about impact from extra games. If we are to be succesful we are going to have to play extra games, whether that impacts on our league position is not something we can or should have reservations about.

So it isn't nonsense at all.

Why not just re - post as KIA then? Because he was embarrassed at acting like a little tart I assume.

I genuinely had no idea.

Why would he make a big song and dance "dissapearing" off WHO, only to then set up a new username and come back again.

How peculiar.

Your point was why do we bother trying for Europe at all

That's nonsense

I can't understand why they would have reservation but I would also be livid if we gave up the chance to play.

It's not nonsense at all? Look at top teams that play Champions League football, some players play 60 odd games a season and that may be after a Major Summer International tournament.

The idea that we are bothered about extra games having a poor effect on the season is pathetic. Fulham got to the Europa League Final through fair play, finished mid table and got to the QF of the FA cup. We played 46 games in the championship so it shouldn't really be too taxing on better players.

I'd whufcroe KIA in disguise then?? Looking back at his last few posts it has the classic hallmarks of;

"Quote something from a previous post"

Ridicule it

Don't offer any kind of opinion yourself.

Looks like KIA to me! Shame,'I was enjoying the peace and quiet.

Re: Fair Play League and Europe
Jack Sullivan has tweeted to say we definately WOULD NOT turn the European place down. He asked his dad, so straight from the horses mouth.

Armenia here we come.

What was the reason we played that friendly at Roots Hall KIA?

Too young to remember why...

I don't mean every round... but if summer events would have to be cancelled and possibly West Ham liable for cost of those events, and the crowds may be small to play against the team that came runner up in the Maltese league or whatever... then I'm just saying there is another option.

Why would West Ham want to play at a small ground and limit their income from the games?

Are we obliged to play at UP? Presumably we could play wherever we want. I'm sure the Daggers would like some income.

No it's not, we've played 32 games and not 30 games

Well of course it's different, there's a month between 1st QR & 3rd QF

So your point is pretty much nonsense and I can understand the clubs view point that it could have a poor effect on next season if the players get just 3 and half weeks break plus having to cancel planned events they wouldn't have to cancel if they qualified as normal.

Fair play is a nonsense and it's no real shock it's been dumped.
